Penelope is a London-based, New Zealand-born dance artist. Penelope creates and delivers dynamic, bespoke dance classes for top-level performance artists who are looking to improve and refine their personal movement identity. Drawing from formal education (BA Hons Dance & Theatre Performance Bird College London) and a wealth of dance knowledge, earned from 15 years of teaching and dance industry experience, Penelope creates a dynamic environment to help refine the artist's own authentic expression of movement. Providing a highly professional, outcome-focused, confidential service.

 

Having worked extensively with Florence Welch, one of the UK's most influential and leading female music artists, Penelope’s dance development work has been performed on a global stage. Supporting and developing Welch’s dance performance technique and movement direction since April 2016. Covering two world album tours ‘How big how blue how beautiful’ and ‘High as hope’ with her band Florence & The Machine. Notably, Penelope helped with movement direction for Florence and the Machines visuals which were played on 5 huge screens to 65,000 people at British Summertime’s headlining Hyde Park performance. Penelope also worked with Florence in creating exciting choreography for her shows opening song 'June’.  Which was performed on international stages throughout F&TM's world tour.

An accomplished dance artist, Penelope has performed on international stages across theatre, film, TV, and live event. From teaching dance classes alongside her performance career, Penelope has co conceptualised and grown the UKs leading Dance Experience company. Building a team of 130 professional dance teachers within 14 UK cities. Supporting the arts by creating freelance work for dance industry professionals. Dance Party Experience has delivered private dance classes to over 60,000 people nationwide and has been featured in Kush magazine and INSTYLE magazine as the top cool party idea. Featured on BBC radio2, ITV Sarah Cox show, and The Brit Awards after-show party two years in a row as well as a finalist at the National wedding awards ‘Best Hen Party Activity’. Penelope has taught and created Dance Party Team Building Activities packages for companies such as Google, Live Nation, Youtube, NHS, Disney, Price Waterhouse Cooper, New Look, Brides Magazine, Morgan Stanley, and Lloyds Bank to name a few.
